Over the years, armadillo pins have helped members find one another out in the wide world at MLA, supported the much-loved (and now retired) Armadillo Ball, and appeared on badges, lanyards, vests, and hats. Locally and regionally, our armadillo-themed items-including accolades, pins, ribbons, and meeting apparel-have raised funds for SCC/MLA awards and scholarships.

Recognize a colleague with a digital certificate celebrating all they do. Accolades are suitable for printing and always the talk of the town. Purchase an Accolade online before the meeting or in person during the meeting, and your colleague will not only see their recognition displayed on our digital monitor throughout the conference, but receive a copy via email after the meeting. You may include your name or for those sneaky little armadillos, remain anonymous.

About SCC Fund Raising Committee

The Fundraising Committee of SCC/MLA exists to coordinate activities and opportunities for members and others to contribute to awards and scholarships for the organization. The committee was formed in 1996 to prevent duplication of efforts and streamline the process for those wanting to give (or give back) to the organization.

SCC/MLA awards and scholarships provide financial assistance to library science students attending the Annual Meeting, funding to association members participating in continuing education classes, and special recognition to honor exceptional members. You can help support these awards and scholarships by contributing year-round to the online fundraising through our Bonfire Store, as well as participating in the numerous fun activities held each year at the Annual Meeting.

2026 Update

This year, in addition to traditional fundraising for Awards and Scholarships, the LAC is also offering a few fundraising items to help defray rising meeting expenses. Items supporting the efforts of the LAC will be clearly labeled so shoppers can easily see where their dollars go.
